Family Therapy
Guided support to help your family grow stronger together
Family relationships can be both a source of joy and challenge. Sometimes, it’s difficult to navigate conflicts, communicate effectively, or understand each other's needs, especially when life circumstances bring added stress. That’s where family therapy can help.
The Process of Family Therapy
01.
Free Consultation
Not sure if we’re the right fit for you? Connect with us for a free 15-minute consultation where we can discuss your presenting concerns, answer any questions you have, and make sure we click together.
02.
Initial Session
The first session is focused on exploring your presenting concerns, family history, and relational dynamics. We work with you to identify what you want to see change, and support you in identifying what type of therapy is the best fit for your family’s needs. Based on your initial consultation, your therapist will let you know who should be present for this first session.
03.
Goal Setting
In the first few weeks, we explore what you hope to get out of therapy so we can make sure we’re meeting your family’s needs. We may meet with different constellations of members of your family to get a full picture of how your family works and what you all need to thrive. These goals then drive the rest of our therapy plan.
04.
Ongoing Sessions
Ongoing sessions are often weekly or biweekly for 45-40 minutes, with a focus on the goals you identified in our first few sessions. Your therapist can help you identify who how sessions can best be structured and who should attend sessions to accomplish the goals you collaboratively identified.
